Power Seat Does Not Tilt Forward Buick

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Using a test lamp, backprobe the seat front vertical motor connector from cavity B (DK GRN) to ground.
  3. Move the front vertical switch up.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 5

Inspect CKT 286 (DK GRN) (left) or CKT 297 (LT GRY) (right) for an open between the seat switch and the seat front vertical motor. Refer to Testing for Continuity in Wiring Systems.

Is CKT 286 or CKT 297 OK?

Go to Step 4

Replace the seat switch. Refer to Power Seat Switch Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

  1. Using a test lamp, backprobe the seat front vertical motor connector from cavity A (DK BLU) to ground.
  2. Move the front vertical switch down.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 7

Inspect CKT 287 (DK BLU) (left) or CKT 298 (WHT) (right) for an open between the seat switch and the seat front vertical motor. Refer to Testing for Continuity in Wiring Systems.

Is CKT 287 or CKT 298 OK?

Replace the seat front vertical motor.Refer to Front Seat Adjuster Motor Replacement .

Repair the open in CKT 297 (DK GRN) between the right seat switch and the right seat front vertical motor. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
