Removal Procedure

J 34730 Fuel Pressure Gauge

  1. Relieve the fuel system fuel pressure. Refer to the Fuel Pressure Relief .
  2. Remove the rear compartment floor trim (1). Refer to Rear Compartment Trim Panel Replacement .
  3. Remove the bolts from the fuel sender access panel (2).

  5. Disconnect the fuel tank pressure sensor (1) electrical sensor connector.

  6. Object Number: 18839  Size: SH
  7. Remove the fuel tank pressure sensor from the sender.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the new fuel tank vapor pressure sensor into the modular fuel sender.

  2. Object Number: 188361  Size: SH
  3. Connect the fuel tank pressure sensor (1) electrical sensor connector.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Reinstall the fuel sender access panel bolts.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  7. Reinstall the trunk liner (1). Refer to Rear Compartment Trim Panel Replacement .
  8. Tighten the fuel tank filler pipe cap.
  9. Reconnect the negative battery cable Refer to

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  10. Reinstall the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement .
