1. TRIM PAD LOOSE TO DOOR INNER PANEL.
2. ROUGH EDGE ON HARD PLASTIC OF TRIM PAD.
3. FLEXING OF COMPONENT PARTS OF TRIM PAD, ARM REST PAD, COURTESY LAMP, ETC.
3M* #6355 SQUEAK REDUCTION TAPE 3M #3550 SCOTCHGARD PROTECTIVE GEL 3M #8946 SILICONE PASTE BLACK ADHESIVE BACKED FELT PRODUCT-SOL ANTI-SQUEAK COMPOUND
1. INSPECT ALL TRIM PAD TO DOOR INNER PANEL ATTACHMENTS TO BE SURE THEY ARE TIGHT AND PROPERLY SEATED.
A. SCREWS - PULL STRAP TO DOOR INNER PANEL. ARMREST PAD TO DOOR TRIM PAD. TRIM PAD TO DOOR INNER PANEL.
B. PLASTIC RETAINERS - CHRISTMAS TREE TYPE.
REPLACE ANY SCREWS AND/OR RETAINERS THAT MAY BE BROKEN, STRIPPED OR MISSING.
2. ON SOME VEHICLES, DOOR TRIM PADS MAY HAVE HARD PLASTIC/VINYL EDGES CONTACTING THE DOOR INNER PANEL.
REMOVE THE TRIM PAD AND CHECK DOOR INNER PANEL FOR VISIBLE RUB/ ETCH MARKS. LIGHTLY SAND EDGES OF TRIM PAD WITH #400 SAND PAPER (TO REMOVE ROUGH EDGES, MOLD FLASH, ETC.) AND APPLY A THIN COAT OF SILICONE LUBRICANT TO THE EDGE OF TRIM PAD.
OR
APPLY ADHESIVE BACKED FELT (BLACK) OR 3M SQUEAK REDUCTION TAPE #6355 (OR EQUIVALENT) AS A GASKET BETWEEN TRIM PAD AND DOOR INNER PANEL. CAREFULLY TRIM, AS REQUIRED, SO MATERIAL IS NOT VISIBLE.
3. ON VEHICLES WITH REMOVABLE ARMREST PADS, ELECTRICAL SWITCH PODS, COURTESY LAMPS, OR OTHER REMOVABLE COMPONENTS, REMOVE COMPONENT FROM TRIM PAD AND APPLY A THIN COAT OF SILICONE LUBRICANT OR 3M SQUEAK REDUCTION TAPE TO THE AREA WHERE THE COMPONENTS ARE MAKING CONTACT.
