FRONT BRAKE DISC LINING CHANGE NON-CHAMFERED PADS

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1984-85 'J' Series Vehicles 1985 'N' Series Vehicles ---------------------------

Some late 1984 'J' series vehicles and some early 1985 'J' and 'N' series vehicles may have been assembled with front brake pads which had a chamfer on the leading and rear edge of the linings.

If an owner comment is encountered of a front brake squeak or whistle type noise on a 'J' or 'N' series vehicle which have chamfered front brake linings, the new service kit 18012785 should be installed on the vehicle.

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1982-85 'J' Series Vehicles ---------------------------

Front disc brake noise can be reduced on some 1982-84 and early 1985 'J' cars by the installation of non-chamfered front disc brake pads.

These non-chamfered front disc pads are currently being used on 1985 production vehicles beginning with the following VIN's.
