ENGINE STALL WITH CLUTCH PEDAL DEPRESSED ON DECEL

MODELS AFFECTED: 1985-86 SKYHAWKS EQUIPPED WITH 1.8L OHC L-4 ENGINES (VIN CODE 0) AND 5-SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS

There have been some customer comments of Skyhawks equipped with 1.8L OHC engines and 5-speed manual transmissions encountering a declutch stall during vehicle warmup.

This condition may occur after a closed throttle coastdown from highway speeds, and depressing the clutch pedal at approximately 35-40 miles per hour.

If this condition is encountered and cannot be corrected using routine shop manual procedures, a service PROM, Part Number 1228482 is available from GMSPO.

Use applicable labor time J6364 for this operation.
