A/C SYSTEM FREON LEAK INSTALL LARGER O-RING

MODELS AFFECTED: 1987 SKYHAWKS WITH AIR CONDITIONING AND LL8 ENGINE (VIN CODE 1)

If the air conditioning system looses its freon, it may be caused by the "O" ring seal at the pressure switch. This switch is located in the compressor and condenser hose and pipe assembly on the LL8 engine.

Prior to charging the system to perform a leak test on a discharged system, replace the switch "O" ring with one that is slightly larger, Part No. 3093509.

This "O" ring should be used whenever the switch requires service.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
