SEALING MATERIALS FOR OIL LEAKS

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1987 LL8 2.0L OHV (VIN CODE 1) ENGINE IN 'J' AND 'L' VEHICLES

Warranty repair information is indicating that rocker cover, cam cover, and front timing cover leakage repairs are being made with RTV. RTV should not be used on these applications.

These sealing interfaces have been designed only for the specified gaskets as follows:

Rocker Cover Gasket P/N 14090066

Cam Cover Gasket P/N 14090974

Front Timing Cover Gasket P/N 14090026

Use of any other material will not meet the intended sealing life.
