HOOD WOBBLES WHEN OPEN DUE TO LOOSE HINGE PIVOT BOLTS

MODELS AFFECTED: 1988-1989 SKYHAWK

Some 1988-1989 Skyhawks may have hood bolts that have insufficient loctite and could loosen. This will allow the hood to have a loose wobbly feel when opened. This condition has been corrected in production at the following VIN breakpoints: 1G4JSS110KK421521, 4/18/89.

To repair this condition, install new hinge pivot bolts, part number 22548097. Parts are currently available through GMSPO. Refer to the illustration for identification (the new bolt has a hex head).
