AIR CLEANER COVER LATCH BREAKAGE

Recent latch breakage on the remote air cleaner cover has fostered a service replacement latch or clip. The GMSPO service part number is 25097101. One latch is contained in the package. Inspect unbroken latch for signs of corrosion, surface pitting or damage, if present replace latch.

The old hinge pin can be removed from the air cleaner lower half by prying the folded metal back and removing the old latch. Once the new latch is installed properly, refold the retaining metal over the hinge pin for good retention. To verify the cover retention, install the cast air cleaner cover on the lower half and check its holding and sealing quality.
