REFINISHING OF EXTERIOR BLACK PAINT ALUMINUM MOLDING

SHOULD IT BECOME NECESSARY TO REFINISH THE EXTERIOR BLACK PAINTED ALUMINUM MOLDINGS BECAUSE OF A CHIPPED OR PEELING CONDITION, THE FOLLOWING STEPS MAY BE USED TO AID IN THE SERVICE REFINISH OPERATION: 1.REMOVE THE AFFECTED MOLDING(S). REFER TO THE FISHER BODY SERVICE MANUAL. 2.STRIP ALL REMAINING COLOR FROM MOLDING(S) USING DITZLER'S DX-586. 3.CLEAN WITH WAX AND GREASE REMOVING SOLVENT, DITZLER'S DX-330. 4.SAND MOLDING(S) WITH 400 (WET OR DRY) SANDPAPER. 5.CLEAN WITH DITZLER'S DX-330. 6.APPLY DITZLER'S DX-533 ALUMIPREP. 7.APPLY ALODINE DX-503. 8.PRIME WITH DITZLER'S EPOXY CHROMATE PRIMER DP 40/401. 9.SAND PRIMER WITH 400 (WET OR DRY) SANDPAPER. 10.TOPCOAT WITH FLAT BLACK ACRYLIC LACQUER. 11.INSTALL REFINISHED MOLDING(S) ON VEHICLE. WHEN USING ANY OF THE ABOVE LISTED MATERIALS, FOLLOW THE MANUFACTURER'S LABEL DIRECTIONS FOR APPLICATION PROCEDURES AND DRYING TIME. REF. MF 81-053 PREPARED BY: F.J. LAUX K.J. PELCHAT
