SEAT ATTACHMENT ILLUSTRATIONS SERVICE MANUAL UPDATE

SOME LATE MODEL 1981 "X" SERIES MAY HAVE DIFFERENT SEAT ADJUSTER-TO-SEAT ATTACHMENTS AND/OR SEAT ADJUSTER-TO-FLOOR ATTACHMENTS FROM THOSE ILLUSTRATED IN THE 1981 "X" SERVICE MANUAL.

THE FOLLOWING ILLUSTRATIONS, TOGETHER WITH THE ILLUSTRATIONS IN THE 1981 "X" SERVICE MANUAL, DEPICT METHODS OF ATTACHMENT. (SEE SERVICE MANUAL FOR ILLUSTRATIONS.)

PRIOR TO SERVICING A COMPARISON SHOULD BE MADE BETWEEN THE SEAT AND RELATED COMPONENTS, AND THE ILLUSTRATIONS, TO DETERMINE THE APPLICABLE ILLUSTRATIONS FOR THE VEHICLE INVOLVED. THE APPLICABLE ILLUSTRATION(S) CAN THEN BE USED AS GUIDE TO AID IN THE DISSASSEMBLY AND ASSEMBLY OF THE RESPECTIVE COMPONENTS.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
