POOR COLD DRIVEABILITY NEW PROM INFORMATION

Models Affected: 1983 Skylark With 2.5L EFI (LR8) Engine Equipped with 4-speed Manual Transaxle National

Some early 1983 Skylark model vehicles equipped with the 2.5L engine (VIN Code R) and 4-speed manual transaxle may exhibit a rolling unstable idle, tip-in hesitation or stumble while being driven when cold. If this condition occurs, a new prom has been released for service correction.

When the new prom is installed, the broadcast code on the paper label affixed to the ECM should be updated in order to reflect this prom change.
