INTERMITTENT 2ND GEAR STARTS CB AND HY MODEL THM 125-C

MODELS AFFECTED: 1983 Skyhawks Equipped With THM 125C Transmissions, Model "CB"

1983 Skyhawks equipped with THM 125C transmissions, model "CB", may experience a condition where the transmission will start out in second gear. Beginning with transmission serial numbers 83-CB-29352, all "CB" model THM 125C transmissions are now being produced with a governor assembly that has the primary spring removed.

When servicing anv 1983 THM 125C "CB" model transmission built prior to the above serial numbers, with a second gear start condition, refer to the following service procedure:

SERVICE PROCEDURE

Refer to the Service Manual for proper removal and installation procedures:

1. Remove the governor assembly from the transmission.

2. Remove the primary spring from the governor assembly (See Illustration).

3. Reinstall the governor assembly.
