VEHICLES AFFECTED: ALL VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH THE 2.5L 151 CU. IN. ENGINE IN 1983 AND IN PRIOR YEARS, SOME 2.5L CU. IN. L-4 ENGINE MAY CONTAIN CRANKSHAFTS WITH TEN THOUSANDS (.010") UNDERSIZE CONNECTING ROD JOURNALS. THESE SUBJECT CRANKSHAFTS CAN BE IDENTIFIED BY ORANGE DAUBS OF PAINT ON BOTH SIDES OF THE CONNECTING ROD JOURNALS AS SHOWN IN FIGURE 1. THE .010" UNDERSIZE CONNECTING ROD BEARINGS ARE AVAILABLE THROUGH GMPD (PART NUMBER 5463929). NO SERVICE CRANKSHAFTS WILL HAVE UNDERSIZE CONNECTING ROD JOURNALS. (ILLUSTRATIONS)
