LOOSE DOOR WEATHERSTRIPPING (APPLY SUITABLE ADHESIVE)

SUBJECT: LOOSE DOOR OPENING WEATHERSTRIP (APPLY SUITABLE ADHESIVE TO AREAS SHOWN IN FIGURE 1)

MODELS AFFECTED: 1992 SKYLARK ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

VIN Breakpoints: Vehicles prior to NC611048

CONDITION:

---------- Some early 1992 Skylark coupes and sedans may exhibit a condition where the door opening weatherstrip is loose at the bottom of the windshield pillar which, in some cases, may result in seal strip peeling away from body.

CAUSE:

------ This condition is caused by the inability of the adhesive tape at the end of the weatherstrip to consistently seal to the body.

CORRECTION:

----------- Apply a suitable adhesive such as, 3M black Super Weatherstrip Adhesive, P/N 08008, or equivalent in the areas shown in Figure 1. Press weatherstrip in place and remove excess weatherstrip adhesive.

PART INFORMATION:

Reimbursement for the 3M black Super Weatherstrip Adhesive # 08008 used must be requested in the Sublet/Net Item field.
