THE PURPOSE OF THIS BULLETIN IS TO NOTIFY RETAIL/WHOLESALE SERVICE PERSONNEL OF A RUNNING CHANGE TO ADD A CENTER PILLAR UPPER WATER DEFLECTOR ASSEMBLY.
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT: (SEE FIGURE 1)
1. CAREFULLY PULL SIDE ROOF RAIL WEATHERSTRIP AWAY FROM BODY FLANGE STARTING AT BOTTOM ALONG REAR DOOR OPENING.
2. CENTER PILLAR UPPER WATER DEFLECTOR ASSEMBLY.
3. ANY RESIDUAL TAPE FROM BODY.
INSTALL OR CONNECT: (SEE FIGURE 1)
1. WATER DEFLECTOR CAN NOT BE REMOVED AND THEN INSTALLED TO BODY WITHOUT DESTROYING TAPE.
A. NEW CENTER PILLAR UPPER WATER DEFLECTOR ASSEMBLY BY REMOVING BACKING PAPER AND PRESS INTO PLACE TO SECURE.
B. REMOVE RESIDUAL TAPE FROM BODY AND WATER DEFLECTOR. REPLACE WITH 8.0MM X 30.0 MM X 1.0MM RUBBER-BASED DOUBLE-SIDED FOAM TAPE AND INSTALL TO BODY AS DESCRIBED.
C. IF AIR DRY TYPE ADHESIVE IS USED, REMOVE RESIDUAL TAPE FROM BODY AND WATER DEFLECTOR. APPLY ONE INCH LONG BEAD OF ADHESIVE TO WATER DEFLECTOR AND INSTALL TO BODY. WATER DEFLECTOR MUST BE CLAMPED TO BODY UNTIL ADHESIVE IS SET BEFORE REINSTALLING ROOF RAIL WEATHERSTRIP.
2. PUSH SIDE ROOF RAIL WEATHERSTRIP TO BODY FLANGE STARTING AT BOTTOM ALONG REAR DOOR OPENING AND WORK FORWARD. ASSURE THAT LOWER LIP ON ROOF RAIL WEATHERSTRIP IS BEHIND DOOR SEAL.
IF REAR SIDE DOOR WINDOW FRAME APPLIQUE MUST BE REPLACED, THE FOLLOWING SERVICE PART CONDITIONS APPLY:
IF OLD APPLIQUE PART NUMBER IS USED, WATER DEFLECTOR IS NOT REQUIRED.
