Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the negative battery cable. Refer to

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  2. Raise the vehicle. Support the vehicle. Refer to General Information
  3. Remove the right front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Wheel Removal in Tires and Wheels.
  4. Remove the right splash shield. Refer to Splash Shield Replacement in Bumpers.
  5. Remove the engine mount strut. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement .

  6. Object Number: 63649  Size: SH
  7. Remove the engine mount strut bracket bolts.
  8. Remove the engine mount strut bracket.

Installation Procedure

Tools Required

J 36660-A Torque Angle Meter


    Object Number: 63649  Size: SH
  1. Install the engine mount strut bracket.
  2. Install the strut bracket to the front cover bolts.
  3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 60 N·m (44 lb ft). Use the J 36660-A in order to tighten the bolts an additional 90 degrees.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the oil pan bolt to the strut bracket.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 75 N·m (55 lb ft).

  6. Install the engine mount strut. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement .
  7. Install the right splash shield. Refer to Splash Shield Replacement in Bumpers.
  8. Install the right front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Wheel Removal in Tires and Wheels.
  9. Lower the vehicle.
  10. Connect the negative battery cable.
