J 33049 Camshaft Bearing Remover/Installer Set

Notice: Severe engine damage may result if the oil holes are not correctly aligned.




1. Use the following procedure in order to install the new camshaft bearings:

1.1.	Select the camshaft bearings.

1.2.	Select the proper expander assembly and driving washer.

1.3.	Assemble the J 33049 .

1.4.	Place the intermediate camshaft bearing onto the J 33049 .

1.5.	Index the camshaft bearing oil hole at 4 o'clock from the front of the engine block.

1.6.	Drive the intermediate camshaft bearings into place.

1.7.	Place the #1 camshaft bearing onto the J 33049 .

Index the camshaft bearing oil hole at 3 o'clock from the front of the engine block.

1.8.	Place the #4 camshaft bearing onto the J 33049 .

Index the camshaft bearing oil hole at 6 o'clock from the front of the engine block.

1.9.	Drive the outer camshaft bearings into place.

Probe the bearing holes in order to ensure that the bearing holes are properly aligned. Use a piece of 3/32 inch brass rod with a 90 degrees bend at the end.

2. Apply sealer GM P/N 12345493 to the camshaft cover.
3. Install the camshaft cover flush with the engine cylinder block.
