Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 13299  Size: SH

    Notice: The EVAP canister may have released carbon particles which caused this part to fail and may cause damage to other components. Check the EVAP canister for loose carbon before returning the vehicle to service.

  1. Disconnect the purge valve electrical connector.
  2. Remove the hoses (2) (3) to the purge valve.
  3. Remove the purge valve (1) from the mounting bracket.
  4. Remove the purge valve mounting bracket attaching nut (when replacing bracket).
  5. Remove the purge valve mounting bracket.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 13299  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the purge valve mounting bracket and attaching nut.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the purge valve mounting bracket attaching nut to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  3. Slide the purge valve (1) onto mounting bracket.
  4. Install the hoses (2) (3) to the purge valve (1).
  5. Connect the purge valve electrical connector.
