INOP. ELEC. QUARTZ SPEEDO ADAPTER TO WIRE HARNESS

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1986 CALAIS WITH OPTION U21

Some early production 1986 Calais models equipped with the analog instrument cluster and option U21 may experience an intermittent cruise control disengagement and/or inoperative speedometer. This condition may be caused by a poor connection between the cluster printed circuit and wiring harness connector. To correct this condition, it may be necessary to install adapter part no. 22532030 at the wiring harness connector. Refer to Fig. 1. Follow procedures outlined in Sectiori 8C2-9 of the 1986 Chassis Service Manual for removal and reinstallation of the instrument panel cluster.

All vehicles built after October 31, 1985 utilize this adapter, therefore requiring no installation.
