Unwanted OnStar Turn By Turn Operation At Startup - keywords message navigation onstar OPC TBT turn unwanted

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Some customers may report hearing a message "Navigation Active" upon starting the vehicle following a previous run cycle where OnStar® Turn By Turn Navigation was in use.

If the customer has reached their intended destination using the OnStar® TBT Navigation but did not reach the precise point at that location as recognized by the TBT system, the system will continue to attempt to direct them to that point upon the next key cycle. This typically will occur at locations with large parking lots (Hospitals, malls, etc.). The customer should hear "You have reached your destination" or similar message when they reach the intended destination. If this is not heard when reaching the end of the route or if the "Navigation Active" message is heard on start up, the customer simply need to press the handfree calling button and after the "OnStar® Ready!" prompt, say "Cancel route!"

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
