The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

There has been some confusion on the hood switch operation on the Terraza, Uplander, Montana SV6 and Relay.

After further research, we found that the switch does not just pull circuit 109 to ground as shown in SI.

Recommendation/Instructions:

The switch has two built in resistors, one is a .75k ohm, and the other is a 6.73k ohm. This means that the switch will show approximately 2.0v when the hood is open and 6.83v when the hood is closed.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
