This bulletin is being revised to provide corrective action. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 07-08-49-007 (Section 08 -- Body and Accessories).
Important: If the customer did not bring their vehicle in for this condition, do not proceed with this bulletin.
Some customers may comment that the seatbelt telltale/light on the IP is coming on intermittently when the seatbelt is fastened.
This condition may be caused by the chime wiring harness chaffing on the seat belt buckle bracket when the seat is moved/adjusted.
Use the following procedure to correct this condition.
8.1. | Using an 8 mm drill bit, drill from the inside of the plastic to the outside. This process uses the existing hole on the inboard side as a guide for drilling the hole in the correct location on the outboard side of the plastic piece. |
8.2. | Using the drill bit or a utility knife, duplicate the slot (located on the inboard side of the plastic piece) to the outboard side of the plastic piece. |
8.3. | Reassemble the seat belt buckle assembly, routing the chime wire harness out the outboard side of the assembly. |
Tighten
Tighten the seat adjuster bolt to 45 N·m (33 lb ft).
Tighten
Tighten to 53 N·m (39 lb ft).
Tighten
Tighten to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
Tighten
Tighten to 45 N·m (33 lb ft).
