1. Power Sliding Door Malfunction 2. Power Sliding Door Open/Close Switch Inoperative |
The power sliding door control module (PSDM) supplies the power and ground to operate the power sliding door motor and clutch. The direction of the motor rotation is determined by which of the control circuits is supplied 12V and which is grounded. The PSDM varies the current flow through the motor ground circuit to control the speed of the motor as necessary. The clutch enables the power sliding door to be operated manually when de-energized, or by the motor when energized.
Battery voltage must be between 9-16V.
• | An open/high resistance in the B+ circuit terminal 14 |
• | The PSDM detects a fault in the left/right sliding door motor open control or left/right sliding door motor close control circuit. |
The PSDM detects a fault in the left/right sliding door clutch control
• | The PSDM detects an open/high resistance in the sliding door detent switch signal circuit for greater than 0.3 seconds |
• | The DTC will set in history only on power close when PSDM detects an obstacle after Pad/Plunger contact detected without seeing the detent switch become active. |
The power sliding door will be inoperative in the power mode
The power sliding door will be inoperative from the power mode and may be difficult to latch while closing in the manual mode.
• | The power sliding door will unlatch but not open, motor may continue to run for up to 3 seconds and may be difficult to latch while closing in the manual mode |
• | The power sliding door will close and immediately re-open and may set B3260 after repeated attempts to close. |
• | The DTC will be current for as long as the fault is present. |
• | When the fault is no longer present, the DTC will be a history DTC. |
• | A history DTC will clear after 50 ignition cycles. |
DTC B1292, B1293, B1294, B1395, B1420, B3250, B3260 or any combination of these DTCs may be set due to an overcinch condition in which the sliding door motor may continue to run for up to 3 seconds after the door is fully closed. Reference any power sliding door overcinching bulletins first before performing any extensive power sliding door diagnostics.

⇒ | If the power sliding door malfunctions, refer to Power Sliding Door Malfunction. |
⇒ | If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance. |
⇒ | If not the specified value, test the signal circuit terminal E for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the PSDM. |
⇒ | If not the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the PSDM. |
⇒ | If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the door contact plate. |
⇒ | If not the specified value, test the signal circuit terminal A for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the door contact plate. |
⇒ | If not the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the door contact plate. |
⇒ | If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. |
⇒ | If the test lamp remains OFF during either of the commands, test either control circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuits test normal, replace the PSDM. |
⇒ | If the test lamp always OFF during the OPEN or CLOSE command, replace the PSDM. |
