The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

A technician may comment of a flashing AC indicator and or a B0239 after they have updated the HVAC control module software per bulletin #05-01-38-011 or #05-01-38-014. They may have replaced the HVAC control module and the defrost actuator with no change.

Recommendation/Instructions:

Tac has identified a condition that may lead to improper diagnosis and unneeded repairs of the HVAC system. Service Information incorrectly identifies DTC B0239 as the defrost actuator, when the correct actuator is the rear mode door for the auxiliary heat/ac module. Check the operation of the rear mode door when this DTC is present and repair as needed.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
