ALLANTE CLUSTER BEZEL ITCH (INSTALL CLUSTER TRIM)

MODELS AFFECTED: 1988-1990 ALLANTES

Some 1988-1990 Allantes equipped with the analog instrument cluster may exhibit a condition of a squeak or itch noise in the instrument cluster bezel area. To repair this condition use the following procedure:

1. Remove cluster trim plate. Refer to Section 8C.

2. File down the four lower trim ramps as indicated in Figure 1.

3. Place a strip of thin, self-adhesive felt to the back side of the trim plate at the upper edge. Refer to Figure 2.

4. Install cluster trim using three washers (no greater than 2mm thick) between the cluster and trim plate as shown in Figure 3.

For warranty purposes use Labor Operation T6418 at .8 hour.
