CONSOLE DOOR CLOSING EFFORT TRIM RUBBER BUMPER MATERIAL

MODELS AFFECTED: 1987-1990 ALLANTES

Some 1987-1990 Allantes may exhibit an excessive console door closing effort. The console door and hinge are not adjustable. Therefore, the following procedure should be used to reduce the console door closing effort:

1. Open console door.

2. Trim off 3mm from the rubber bumpers with a razor blade or utility knife. Refer to Figure 1.

3. Check console door closing effort.

4. If effort is still unacceptable, trim off lmm additional material from rubber bumpers.

NOTICE: Removal of any additional material from the bumpers will not improve closing effort. Removal of additional material may introduce a rattle in the console area. Do not remove any more material after step 4 has been completed.

For warranty purposes use Labor Operation T6450 at .2 hour.
