SEATBACK RELEASE HANDLE EFFORT TIGHTEN/LOOSEN ADJUSTMENT NUT

SUBJECT: SEAT BACK RELEASE HANDLE DIFFICULT TO OPERATE (TIGHTEN OR LOOSEN ADJUSTMENT NUT)

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1987-1992 CADILLAC ALLANTE

Some 1987-1992 Allantes may experience a condition of the seat back release handle being difficult to operate. This condition may be caused by a misadjusted seat release handle.

To repair this condition use the following procedure:

1. Remove the seat back cover. Refer to Section 10-10-3 of the 1991/1992 Allante Service Information Manual.

2. Loosen locknut. Refer to Figure 1.

3. Tighten or loosen adjustment nut to obtain desired release handle effort. Refer to Figure 1.

4. Tighten locknut.

5. Install seat back cover.

For vehicles repaired under warranty use: 0.3 hour.
