SOFT TOP DIFFICULT TO LATCH IN REAR & CLEANING PROCEDURE

Soft Top Difficult To Latch In Rear:

Some 1990-1/2 Allantes may experience a condition of the rear bow difficult to latch. This may be caused by the soft top material being stowed for extended periods of time after being stored when wet. It is extremely important that the soft top be stored only when dry or slight material shrinkage can occur. To correct this condition, raise the soft top and latch in the rear. Leave the top in the up position for at least 24 hours. Hot towels applied to the top or direct sunlight may aid in stretching the material.

Cleaning Of The Soft Top Cover:

The 1990-1/2 Allante soft top cover is made from an SMC composite material with a Soflex paint system. It is VERY important that NO DETERGENTS OR SILICON CHEMICALS be used in the care of the soft top cover. Recommended cleaning procedure is to use lukewarm water ONLY with no detergents. Detergents and silicon chemicals (i.e., Armor All) cause severe streaking of the painted surface. No field repair process is available at this time for the cover.
