Some 1993 Cadillac Allantes built between VIN 125022 and VIN 125200 may experience a condition where the "A" note horn bracket may fall and hang loose in the right-hand lower side rail. This condition can be corrected by fastening both the "A" and "F" note horn brackets into the existing "F" note horn bracket mounting hole with a new longer mounting bolt, P/N 11515184. To repair this condition use the following procedure:
1. Hoist the vehicle.
2. Disengage both horn connectors.
3. Unscrew the "F" note horn mounting bolt.
4. Bend the "A" note bracket mounting tang flat with respect to the bracket plate.
5. Position both horn brackets ("F" note horn bracket facing forward) toward the "F" note horn mounting hole. (Refer to Figure 1).
6. Fasten both horn brackets with a new mounting bolt, P/N 11515184, to the "F" note horn bracket mounting hole.
7. Reconnect both horn connectors.
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
