Subject:No Sound from Right Speakers When Watching TV or using Auxiliary RCA Jacks (Relocate Terminals of IP Harness Connector)

Models:2003 Cadillac CTS (Export Only -- Europe)
with Up Level Radio (RPO U2Y)



Condition

Some customers may comment that there is no sound coming out of the right speakers when watching TV or using Auxiliary RCA Jacks.

Cause

The cause of this condition may be that the TV Antenna Module connector is not pinned properly.

Correction

Relocate terminals of the IP to Body in-line harness connector (C302) using the procedure listed below:

  1. Pull back the carpet at the right front center console.
  2. Locate the 26-way lever lock in-line connector (C302) for IP to body.
  3. Remove the foam wrap and separate the connector.
  4. On the IP harness side of the connector, remove the terminals from cavities 9, 10, and 11.
  5. Re-insert the terminals back into the connector as follows:
  6.  - TAN/WHT wire into cavity 10
     - BRN/WHT wire into cavity 11
     - DRK GRN/WHT wire into cavity 9
  7. Re-assemble the connector, being careful not to damage the terminals or the connector.
  8. Re-secure the connector to the vehicle.
  9. Install the carpet back in place.
  10. Verify proper radio/TV function.
  11. 9.1. Check TV video operation.
    9.2. Check audio operation (balance, fade, etc.)
