This bulletin is being issued to revise the torsional backlash rear axle specifications in the Rear Axle sub-section of the Service Manual. Please replace the current information in the Service Manual with the following information.

The following information has been updated within SI. If you are using a paper version of this Service Manual, please make a reference to this bulletin on the affected page.

There is now a specific specification for each gear ratio and the matching input flange size. In order to determine this specification, follow these steps:

Refer to Rear Axle Usage (SI Document ID 784773) in order to identify the axle ratio from the axle tag.
When the ratio is identified, you have to then identify the input flange size. Refer to Step 4 and the related graphic in Backlash Adjustment (SI Document ID 1239414).
To identify the backlash specification needed for the axle, refer to Rear Axle Specifications (SI Document ID 784772) (also shown below).
