The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in the PI.
Condition/Concern:
After replacing the Vehicle Theft Deterrent (VTD) Module with part number 25759726 on a 2003 or 2004 Cadillac CTS, the Technician may encounter a loss of communication message on the Tech 2 when performing the VTD Set Up procedure.

Recommendation/Instructions:
Part number 25759726 VTD Module on 2003 & 2004 Cadillac CTS will not require the Tech 2 Set Up procedure be performed on domestic (USA) vehicles. Vehicles operated outside the USA will however require the setup procedure. Technicians will need to perform the VTD relearn procedure in order for the ECM to learn the new Theft Deterrent Module password.
Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
