The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
When doing major service on a 2003 Cadillac CTS equipped with a 5L40E and transmission code 3GAG dealers may not find any serviceable transmission components.
Recommendation/Instructions:
The 3GAG transmission was serviced as an assembly ONLY, if any major service or component is needed for these transmissions the transmission will need to be replaced as a assembly with a 3GBG model. If 3GBG model assemblies are no longer available, then a 4GBG assembly may be used. If the vehicle or transmission is under warranty please contact the PQC at the number you have been provided. If the transmission is any other code please see the latest version of tsb 05-07-30-010.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
