Removal Procedure
  1. Mark the location of the hinges, upper and lower, on the door with a grease pencil.
  2. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  3. Remove the door module. Refer to Door Control Module Replacement .
  4. Remove the inside door handle. Refer to Rear Side Door Inside Handle Replacement .
  5. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  6. Remove the energy absorber pad. Refer to Rear Door Energy Absorber Pad Replacement .
  7. Remove the window inner belt sealing strip. Refer to Rear Door Window Belt Inner Sealing Strip Replacement .
  8. Remove the inner window seal. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Inner Weatherstrip Replacement .
  9. Remove the door window. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Replacement .
  10. Remove the window outer belt sealing strip. Refer to Rear Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement .
  11. Remove the rear door stationary window. Refer to Rear Side Door Stationary Window and Front Channel Replacement .
  12. Remove the window regulator. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Regulator Replacement .
  13. Remove the door frame applique. Refer to Rear Door Frame Applique Replacement .
  14. Remove the door bottom auxiliary sealing strip. Refer to Rear Side Door Bottom Auxiliary Sealing Strip Replacement .
  15. Remove the front window run channel. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Front Channel Replacement .
  16. Remove the door latch. Refer to Rear Side Door Latch Replacement .
  17. Remove the outside door handle. Refer to Rear Side Door Outside Handle Replacement .
  18. Remove the rear door upper auxiliary weatherstrip. Refer to Rear Side Door Upper Auxiliary Weatherstrip Replacement .
  19. Remove the door check link. Refer to Rear Side Door Check Link Replacement .
  20. Open the front door.

  21. Disconnect the door wire harness from the body wire harness.
  22. Remove the wiring harness retainers (1) from the door.
  23. Remove the rubber conduit and wiring harness from the door.
  24. Support the door.
  25. With an assistant, remove the hinge to door bolts in order to remove the door.

Installation Procedure
  1. With an assistant, install the door to the vehicle.
  2. Support the door.

    3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the hinge to door bolts.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the hinge to door bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  4. Install the door check link. Refer to Rear Side Door Check Link Replacement .

  5. Route the wiring harness and conduit into the door.
  6. Install the door wiring harness retainers (1) to the door.
  7. Connect the door wiring harness electrical connector to the body wiring harness electrical connector.
  8. Install the rear door upper auxiliary weatherstrip. Refer to Rear Side Door Upper Auxiliary Weatherstrip Replacement .
  9. Install the door latch. Refer to Rear Side Door Latch Replacement .
  10. Install the outside door handle. Refer to Rear Side Door Outside Handle Replacement .
  11. Install the front window run channel. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Front Channel Replacement .
  12. Install the door bottom auxiliary sealing strip. Refer to Rear Side Door Bottom Auxiliary Sealing Strip Replacement .
  13. Install the door frame applique. Refer to Rear Door Frame Applique Replacement .
  14. Install the rear door stationary window. Refer to Rear Side Door Stationary Window and Front Channel Replacement .
  15. Install the window regulator. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Regulator Replacement .
  16. Install the window outer belt sealing strip. Refer to Rear Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement .
  17. Install the door window. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Replacement .
  18. Install the inner window seal. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Inner Weatherstrip Replacement .
  19. Install the window inner belt sealing strip. Refer to Rear Door Window Belt Inner Sealing Strip Replacement .
  20. Install the energy absorber pad. Refer to Rear Door Energy Absorber Pad Replacement .
  21. Install the water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  22. Install the inside door handle. Refer to Rear Side Door Inside Handle Replacement
  23. Install the door module. Refer to Door Control Module Replacement .
  24. Install the door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  25. Inspect for proper door adjustment. Refer to Door Adjustment .
  26. Touch up any paint damage to the rear door hinge, fasteners, and check link with body color paint.
