J 25070 Heat Gun

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 643109  Size: SH
  1. Use a J 25070 in a circular motion for 30 seconds 152 mm (6 in) from the surface to heat the upper edge of the rear door body side molding to 21-32°C (70-90°F).
  2. Notice: Refer to Exterior Trim Emblem Removal Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Use a plastic, flat-bladed tool to remove the rear door body side molding from the surface.

  4. Object Number: 321645  Size: SH
  5. Remove all adhesive from the rear door panel using 3M™ Scotch Brite molding adhesive remover disk 3M™ P/N 07501 or equivalent.
  6. Clean the door panel surface using Varnish Makers and Painters (VMP) naphtha and allow to air dry.

Installation Procedure

  1. Use a J 25070 in a circular motion for 30 seconds 152 mm (6 in) from the surface to heat the upper edge of the rear door body side to 21-32°C (70-90°F).

  2. Object Number: 709649  Size: SH

    Important: Do not touch the adhesive backing on the molding.

  3. Remove the protective liner from the back side of the door body side molding.
  4. Install the door body side molding by applying pressure to the entire length of the molding starting at the center and working outward to ensure a maximum bond to the door panel.
