J 44827 Transmission Cooler Quick Disconnect
Removal Procedure
- Remove the air deflector. Refer to
Front Air Deflector Replacement
in Body
Front End.
- Disconnect the auxiliary cooling fan electrical connector.
Notice: The transmission oil cooler system uses quick connect fittings throughout the
system. Use a special tool to disconnect these quick connect fittings. Removing the transmission oil cooler lines without this tool will result in damage to the radiator, the transmission, and the transmission oil cooler caused by mixing the transmission oil
and coolant or due to transmission oil loss.
- Using the J 44827
disconnect the auxiliary transmission cooler lines from the auxiliary cooler.
- Position the auxiliary cooler lines out of the way.
- Remove the auxiliary cooling fan assembly bolts (1,
2).
- Remove the lower left auxiliary cooling fan bolt.
- Remove the auxiliary cooling fan assembly bolt (1).
- Remove the upper left auxiliary cooling fan bolt.
- Remove the auxiliary cooling fan assembly from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Position the auxiliary fan assembly into the vehicle.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the auxiliary cooling fan lower bolts (1,2).
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 6.5 N·m (58 lb in).
- Install the fan assembly bolt (1).
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 6.5 N·m (58 lb in).
- Install the remaining auxiliary cooling fan bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 6.5 N·m (58 lb in).
- Push the auxiliary transaxle oil cooler line into the cooler until you
hear it engage.
- Gently tug out on the transmission oil cooler line to verify that the
line is engaged into position.
- Connect the auxiliary fan electrical connector.
- Install the air deflector. Refer to
Front Air Deflector Replacement
in Body
Front End.
- Inspect the transmission fluid level. Refer to
Transmission Fluid Check
in Automatic Transmission - 5L40-E/5L50-E.
