J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1654903  Size: SH
  1. Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement.
  2. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling.
  3. Remove the front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  4. Remove the heater hose assembly retaining nut from the inner fender well.
  5. Lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  6. Release tension on the heater hose assembly retaining clamps at the water pump housing using J 38185 .
  7. Disconnect the heater hose assembly from the water pump housing.
  8. Release tension on the heater hose assembly retaining clamps at the heater core using J 38185 .
  9. Disconnect the heater hose assembly from the heater core.
  10. Release tension on the surge tank outlet hose clamp using J 38185 .
  11. Disconnect the surge tank outlet hose from the heater hose pipe assembly.
  12. Remove the heater hose assembly retaining nuts.
  13. Remove the heater hose assembly.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1654903  Size: SH
  1. Install the heater hose assembly.
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the heater hose assembly retaining nuts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 12 N·m (9 lb ft).

  5. Connect the surge tank outlet hose to the heater hose pipe assembly.
  6. Engage tension on the surge tank outlet hose clamp using J 38185 .
  7. Connect the heater hose assembly to the heater core.
  8. Engage tension on the heater hose assembly retaining clamps at the heater core using J 38185 .
  9. Connect the heater hose assembly to the water pump housing.
  10. Engage tension on the heater hose assembly retaining clamps at the water pump housing using J 38185 .
  11. Lower the vehicle.
  12. Install the heater hose assembly retaining nut to the inner fender well.
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 12 N·m (9 lb ft).

  14. Install the front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  15. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling.
  16. Install the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement.
