Service VME - Unable to Play Certain CDs CTS and SRX - keywords cd disc radio

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in the PI.

This message concerns 2004 and 2005 model year Cadillac SRX and CTS vehicles equipped with the U2S or U2R base radio and CD system. That’s the non-navigation radio. A high percentage of these radios have been exchanged for a customer concern of inability to play a CD. Analysis has shown these radios to be no trouble found. Please note that these radios may not play a MP3 or a CDR disk. Whenever you have a concern with compact disks skipping, inoperative, sluggish and long search times, you first need to evaluate the system with a known good disk. Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
