XM Volume is Lower Than the CD or Other Radio Bands - keywords calibration diagnostic information performance software U2K U2R

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in the PI.

Some Cadillac CTS and SRX customers with a U2R (CD radio) may report that the XM volume is lower than the CD or other radio bands. Engineering has determined that the radio software is the root cause and the radio will need to be replaced.

Vehicles equipped with a U2R radio can order a replacement radio Specmo Enterprises in Madison Heights, Michigan. Specmo's telephone numbers are (248) 307-2570 or (800) 545-7911.

Note: Specmo Enterprises is the only Authorized Electronic Service Center that stocks these exchange radios.

Engineering has suggested the following to help make the concern less noticeable for the customer.

1. Use the tone control presets.
2. Create a preset for the XM channels that increase base, treble and mid range.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
