Parking Lamp and/or Stop Lamps On In Reverse - keywords back backup CHMSL light park tail wire wiring

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in the PI.

Some 2005 Cadillac CTS vehicles may experience a concern of the parking lamps and/or the stop lamps staying on when the vehicle is in reverse.

Remove the rear compartment lid applique (refer to SI Document ID # 749177) and inspect for a wiring chafe on the applique mounting stud just left of center.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
