The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Some customers may comment that after extended driving, the Trip Odometer and the Seasonal Odometer do not read the same distance.
Recommendation/Instructions:
This is a normal condition caused by the IPC calculating vehicle speed/distance using a "hardwire" input and the DIC calculating vehicle speed/distance using a Class 2 message from the ECM. No repair attempts should be made.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
