Navigation System TV Display is Blank (Replace TV Antenna Module)

Some customers may comment on a blank Television (TV) display on their vehicle's navigation system screen.

This condition may be caused by the TV antenna module (TV tuner module).

Important: This condition is found only on vehicles that currently have TV antenna module, P/N 25739770, in the vehicle. Use the Tech 2® to verify the part number of the TV antenna module.

Follow normal diagnostic procedures for a navigation system concern. Refer to the Diagnostic System Check -- Navigation System in SI (Document ID 802397) to begin your diagnostic procedure. If the SI diagnostic procedures lead to a diagnosis of a failed TV antenna module, replace the module with P/N 15840015. Refer to the TV Antenna Module Replacement procedure in the Entertainment sub-section of SI (Document ID 815142) for more information.

A few vehicles delivered in China may require an additional diagnostic step. The vehicle may have a blank TV screen caused by a radio whose configuration was changed prior to the vehicle being delivered to the customer. The latest version of Tech 2 software has a file that will set the radio back to its default settings. Technicians are to use the following steps to reconfigure the radio back to its default settings:

1. Build the vehicle.
2. Select Body.
3. Select Radio.
4. Select Special Functions.
5. Select Set Options.
6. Select Radio Setup.
7. Set up the radio as necessary.
