Condition

Some customers may comment on a dead battery after the vehicle has been parked for more than eight hours.

Cause

This condition may be caused by the TV antenna module (TV tuner module).

Correction

Important: This condition is found only on vehicles that currently have TV antenna module, P/N 15218693, in the vehicle. Use the Tech 2® to verify the part number of the TV antenna module.

Follow normal diagnostic procedures for a dead battery concern. Refer to the Diagnostic System Check -- Vehicle in SI (Document ID 1429010) to begin your diagnostic procedure. If the SI diagnostic procedures do not lead to a definite cause of the dead battery, replace the TV antenna module with P/N 15840015. Refer to the TV Antenna Module Replacement procedure in the Entertainment sub-section of SI (Document ID 815142) for more information.
