Condition
Some customers may comment on either of the following two conditions:
| • | The "Theft Attempted" message may not be displayed in the following circumstance - after the theft system is triggered, the vehicle will sound the horn and blink the headlights and taillights. After the theft trigger goes away, the system will return to a monitor state and the horn will stop sounding and the lights will stop blinking. When the driver returns to the vehicle and after startup, the radio should display the message "Theft Attempted". The message is used to let the driver know that the theft system has been triggered and that they may need to examine the vehicle for any damage. |
| • | The German language file in the navigation radio may have certain characters that are misrepresented or displayed incorrectly. |
Correction
Technicians are to update the navigation radio software using software update package, P/N 15269181. Perform the update by following the instructions included with the CDs. Use the yellow software disc and the yellow instruction sheet first to update the radio. A black/silver language software CD is also supplied in the software package. This software CD will give the customer the ability to select three out of four possible languages. The languages that are supported on this disc are: UK English, German, French and Spanish.
The navigation radio was also designed to give the customer the capability to disable the theft deterrent system. The customer currently does not have that capability due to the current software in the navigation radio. The software update package will restore the customer's ability to disable the theft deterrent system.

Important: This part is not available through GMSPO. The software update package will be supplied automatically by Cadillac & Corvette Europe -- Material Management Distribution Center (Portica) to European GM dealerships.
