Radio Dispalys CD Error (RPO U2R And U2S) - keywords play

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Some customers may comment the radio will display CD ERROR or not play a certain CD when inserted. They may also comment that other CDs will play properly in the vehicle. The suspect CD may play normally if tried in another radio or vehicle model. Examination of the CD will reveal it is a "multi- session" disc. Multi-session discs are those containing both audio tacks and data files.

This information only applies to 2007 CTS with RPO U2R or U2S. It also applies to '03-'06 CTS and '04-'06 SRX with RPO U2R or U2S, if the vehicle has had a radio replacement/ exchange after 7/23/06, and is using Calibration ID 0313. Exchange the Radio using an authorized Electronic Service Center (ESC). State that the exchange is for one of the following reasons: CD error message, Will not play certain or all types of CD's, or intermittently will not play a CD. Please reference this PI number to ensure the correct calibration is obtained.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
