The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

If the radio in a 2003-2007 CTS or 2004-2006 SRX with a non-navigation radio is not configured properly, the customer may complain that certain systems or functions are inoperative. For example, when the customer presses the Steering Wheel Control (SWC) button to initiate the OnStar® Hands-Free Calling (HFC) feature, the radio will display audio mute instead of phone and the OnStar® ready prompt is not heard.

To configure the Radio, perform the following:

1. With the Tech 2 go to radio, special functions, set options, optional modules, then select the appropriate modules to set up (Memory seat module, OnStar® , DVD, Tire pressure monitor, DRR) and save options.
2. It is necessary to cycle the ignition off and open the door to disable RAP to save programming.

Note: Radios received through the service centers arrive configured for CTS vehicles.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
