Power Steering Pump Replacement LP1, LY7

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1298746 Size: SH
  1. Place a drain pan under the vehicle.
  2. Remove the power steering pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement .
  3. Remove the power steering reservoir outlet hose from the power steering pump.

    4. Object Number: 794623 Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the power steering pressure line from the power steering pump.

    5. Object Number: 1298748 Size: SH
  5. Remove the power steering pump bracket to engine bolts.
  6. Remove the power steering pump and bracket assembly.

    7. Object Number: 1298747 Size: SH
  7. Remove the power steering pump to bracket bolts
  8. Remove the pump from the bracket.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1298747 Size: SH
  1. Install the power steering pump to the bracket.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the power steering pump to bracket bolts.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 22 N路m (17 lb ft).

  3. Install the power steering pump and bracket assembly.
  4. Install the power steering pump bracket to engine bolts .

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 50 N路m (37 lb ft).


    Object Number: 794623 Size: SH

    Important: Clean the material from the power steering pressure line and install a new seal.

  5. Connect the power steering pressure line to the power steering pump.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the fitting to 40 N路m (30 lb ft).

  6. Install the power steering reservoir outlet hose to the power steering pump.
  7. Install the power steering pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement .
  8. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
  9. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1391091 Size: SH
  1. Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement in Body Front End.
  2. Place a drain pan under the vehicle.
  3. Remove the power steering pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement .
  4. Remove the power steering reservoir outlet hose from the power steering pump.

    5. Object Number: 1400678 Size: SH
  5. Disconnect the power steering pressure line from the power steering pump.

    6. Object Number: 1400674 Size: SH
  6. Remove the power steering cooler outlet hose from the power steering reservoir

    7. Object Number: 1391090 Size: SH
  7. Remove the power steering pump to power steering pump bracket bolts
  8. Remove the power steering pump from the power steering pump bracket.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1298747 Size: SH
  1. Install the power steering pump to the power steering pump bracket.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the power steering pump to power steering pump bracket bolts.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 25 N路m (18 lb ft).

    Important: Clean the material from the power steering pressure hose and install a new seal.

  3. Connect the power steering pressure line to the power steering pump.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the fitting to 40 N路m (30 lb ft).

  4. Install the power steering reservoir outlet hose to the power steering pump.

    5. Object Number: 1400674 Size: SH
  5. Install the power steering cooler outlet hose to the power steering reservoir.
  6. Install the power steering pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement .
  7. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
  8. Install the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement in Body Front End.
  9. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
