Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement LHD
Removal Procedure
- Open the hood.
- Remove the windshield wiper arms. Refer to
Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement
.
- Remove the rear hood seal from the flange on the air inlet grille panel.
- Remove the screws (2) securing the passenger side air inlet panel (1) to the cowl panel.
Important: The outer rear edges of the air inlet grille panels are positioned around the rear of the hood hinges and are tucked under the inner fender flanges.
- Lift the passenger side air inlet grille panel (3) and pull inward in order to remove the panel from the lower windshield edge.
- Remove the panel from the vehicle.
- Remove the nut (4) securing the driver side air inlet panel to the inner fender flange.
- Lift the driver side air inlet grille panel (3) over the wiper arm drive spindle and move the panel inward in order to remove the driver side air inlet panel from the lower glass edge and the locator pin.
- Remove the driver side air inlet panel from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Position the driver side air inlet grille panel (3) to the vehicle, over the wiper arm drive spindle and in behind the hood
hinge.
- Ensure the air inlet grille is secure to the locator pin on the inner fender flange.
- Ensure the clips on the rear edge of the air inlet grille panel are secure to the lower edge of the windshield.
- Ensure the seal is positioned onto the lower windshield edge.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the nut (4) securing the driver side air inlet panel to the inner fender flange.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 6 N·m (53 lb in).
- Position the passenger side air inlet grille panel seal around the hood hinge and under the inner fender flange.
- Ensure the clips on the rear edge of the air inlet grille panel are secure to the lower edge of the windshield.
- Ensure the seal is positioned onto the lower windshield edge.
- Install the screws (2) in order to secure the air inlet panel to the cowl panel.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 3 N·m (27 lb in).
- Install the rear hood seal onto the flange of the air inlet grille panel.
- Apply pressure to the seal in order to secure.
- Install the windshield wiper arms. Refer to
Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement
.
- Close the hood.
Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement RHD
Removal Procedure
- Open the hood.
- Remove the windshield wiper arms. Refer to
Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement
.
- Remove the rear hood seal from the flange on the air inlet grille.
- Remove the screws (2) securing the passenger side air inlet panel (1) to the cowl panel.
Important: The outer rear edges of the air inlet grille panels are positioned around the rear of the hood hinges and are tucked under the inner fender flanges.
- Lift the passenger side air inlet grille panel (1) and pull forward in order to remove the panel from the lower windshield edge.
- Remove the passenger side panel from the vehicle.
- Remove the nut (4) securing the driver side air inlet panel to the fender flange.
- Lift the driver side air inlet grille panel (3) over the wiper arm drive spindle and move the panel inward in order to remove the driver side air inlet panel from the lower glass edge and the locator pin.
- Remove the driver side air inlet panel from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Position the driver side air inlet grille panel (3) to the vehicle, over the wiper arm drive spindle and in behind the hood
hinge.
- Ensure the air inlet grille is secure to the locator pin on the inner fender flange.
- Ensure the clips on the rear edge of the air inlet grille panel are secure to the lower edge of the windshield.
- Ensure the seal is positioned onto the lower windshield edge.

- Install the screws (2) in order to secure the air inlet panel (1) to the cowl panel.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 3 N·m (27 lb in).
- Install the rear hood seal onto the flange of the air inlet grille panel.
- Apply pressure to the seal in order to secure.
- Install the windshield wiper arms. Refer to

.
- Close the hood.
