Makes 🢒 Cadillac 🢒 2007 🢒 CTS 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Mechanical - 6.0L 🢒 Cylinder Head Replacement - Right Side

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1392838 Size: SH
  1. Remove the valve rocker arms and pushrods. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm and Push Rod Replacement .
  2. Remove the intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement .
  3. Remove the engine coolant air bleed pipe and covers. Refer to Coolant Air Bleed Pipe Assembly Replacement .
  4. Remove the exhaust manifold. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Replacement - Right Side .
  5. Remove the oil level indicator tube . Refer to Oil Level Indicator and Tube Replacement .
  6. Remove the negative battery cable from the right cylinder head. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Replacement .

    7. Object Number: 1408870 Size: SH

    Important: The cylinder head bolts are of a torque-to-yield design and are NOT to be used again. Install NEW cylinder head bolts during assembly.

  7. Remove the M8 and M11 cylinder head bolts (220, 221).

    8. Notice: After removal, place the cylinder head on 2 wood blocks in order to prevent damage to the sealing surfaces.

  8. Remove the cylinder head (218). Refer to Cylinder Head Removal - Right Side .

  9. Remove the cylinder head gasket (217).
  10. Discard the gasket.
  11. Discard the cylinder head bolts.
  12. Disassemble the cylinder head if necessary. Refer to Cylinder Head Disassemble .
  13. Clean and inspect the cylinder head. Refer to Cylinder Head Cleaning and Inspection .
  14. Assemble the cylinder head if necessary. Refer to Cylinder Head Assemble .

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the right cylinder head. Refer to Cylinder Head Installation - Right Side .
  2. Install the negative battery cable to the right cylinder head. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Replacement .

    3. Object Number: 651879 Size: SH
  3. Install the oil level indicator tube. Refer to Oil Level Indicator and Tube Replacement .
  4. Install the exhaust manifold. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Replacement - Right Side .
  5. Install the engine coolant air bleed pipe. Refer to Coolant Air Bleed Pipe Assembly Replacement .
  6. Install the intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement .
  7. Install the valve rocker arms and pushrods. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm and Push Rod Replacement .
